French Copper Wine Pitcher, Burgundy Region 1900s
An attractive copper pitcher with embellishments, French circa 1900. This wide pitcher features a large pour spout with built in strainer, a generous handle at the back as well as a swinging handle at the top with finely grooved texture. The top handle rests inside two twisted loops of copper riveted to either side of the pitcher. A band along the rim has hand-struck score marks, adding texture and a decorative edge. Running under the handle and down the back you can see the brazed seam with brass connection. The interior of the pitcher is zinc. It would make a great utensil holder or planter.
Condition: Good condition. Some dings and scratches, light metal tarnishing, all typical for its age.
