circa: 19th Century
A 19th Century glazed Terracotta Water Jar from Provence with a handle and spout. Classic form with a tapered base and wide belly. A small spout is perched near the rim and a graceful handle stretches over the top, split into three loops. The handle and shoulders of the jar bear a glossy, deep brown glaze with lighter tonal variation. The lower portion and bare patches on the handle are unglazed, with a phenomenal texture and reddish-brown coloration.
Condition: Very good. Age appropriate wear. Partial crack on the underside of the handle.
