A gorgeous Art Nouveau French mohogany and cherrywood pedestal music stand or lectern, circa 1900. The broad, cherrywood veneer sheet holder has ornate cutouts of classic art nouveau arabesque lines, organic and reminiscent of fiddlehead ferns. Where the center connects to the stand, it is not cut through, but carved in with a stippled texture. The gracefully turned mahogany base has a baluster form and beautiful patina. Scrolled tripod feet anchor the piece. The height is adjusted with a turned wooden knob screw, and the top will pull all the way out. You can adjust the height between 49" and 70".
Condition: A few instances of veneer cracking, some chips and two fills on the front of stand, and some nicks on the feet.
