circa: Early 1900s
An attractive and functional antique French draper's table in pine, circa 1900. The long table is suitable for the kitchen, console or display. Rustic construction with sturdy legs and dado joints is complemented by the patina and marks received through decades of commercial and industrial use by drapers and seamstresses. The top consists of seven long planks that have taken on a deep, reddish-brown hue. The middle and bottom shelf have wider boards running perpendicular to the top. Aside form the table top, the legs and edges are all painted a dark gray-brown. Between the top and middle shelf is 12.75" clearance, between middle and lower shelf is 10.25".
Condition: Lots of nicks, bumps and scratches throughout the pine surfaces, especially on top, commensurate with age and use. Some splitting between boards, typical for its age.
