A handsome Naploeon III Period commercial butcher's scale with marble top and ebonized wood base. The low profile recangular ebononized base is trimmed by a decorative molded edge. A contrasting white marble top with rounded edges caps the base, and carries the signs of over 100 years of use. The shapely level beam is aged red iron with a point that hovers over a tiny brass cone to measure weight. Two broad brass plateaux brighten the scale, each with a single inspection mark. A brass finial finishes out the scale. Measures up to 30 kilos.
Condition: Some wear and fading to the ebonized wood base. Nicks along the edge of the marble top as well as some discoloration and little dents or holes. All commensurate with age and use.
