circa: Late 1800s
A matching pair of iron and marble bistro tables from Spain, late 1800s. Wrought iron bases with Rococo inspired forms, from the Fejemar foundry in Sevilla. The bases are ornate, with acanthus motif and scrolls branching off of a central baluster-style post, all resting on little ball feet. Both have stretchers forged to look like turned balusters with acanthus decoration. Rectangular white marble tops with rounded edges have light gray veining throughout. The tops rest on the bases and are not attached. This pair would make great consoles.
Condition: Good antique condition. Iron bases have rusting, the marble tops have chipped edges and scratches typical for age and use, as well as some age spots on the surface.
