A very fine Louis Philippe style walnut pastry table with an onyx top, French circa 1900. The stately walnut base has a wonderful, warm tone. Molded around the bottom edge and with wider, projected molding around the top. Four turned, heavy baluster legs. The front has a single drawer with a working lock and round, wooden escutcheon. Drawer dimensions are 18" wide, 24" long, and 2.5" deep. The milky onyx top is one inch thick with sloped, rounded edges. It is a creamy off-white with sparse gray veining. The top floats on the walnut base. Floor to apron is 23", space between the legs is 42".
Condition: Good antique condition. One corner has some old damage with a missing piece at the edge. A few tiny marks along the edge molding and two hard to spot places with old fills, both on the left side near the overhanging molding. Some superficial surface scratches on the onyx top.
