A Louis XV style mirror made of carved beechwood painted in bronze and grayish tones. The piece was originally used as the top of a vanity table, so it has a flat bottom. A pair of carved acanthus scrolls anchor the base, then the frame stretches up to an arched top with scrollwork and a shell carving at the crest. The carving and paint strike an excellent balance between decoration and subtlety.
Condition: Very good. Some fading on paint.
