French Art Deco Green Tole and Brass Chandelier, 1930s
An Art Deco six light chandelier in green tole and brass, French circa 1930. Spindle shaped with a tole and brass body, it has elements of Empire Style. Six curved arms spread out from the center drum, each ribbed and scrolled with a scalloped top. Perched over these tops are frosted glass cups, hand painted with black and cobalt blue to form lobes. Recommended 40 watt candelabra bulbs inside each glass cup. Rising from the lower drum is a baluster styled brass column with a ribbed central shaft. A shield shaped connector hangs from a hook at the bottom of the scalloped brass canopy. A stylized brass daisy adorns the very bottom of the chandelier, contrasting nicely with the green tole.
