circa: Early 1900s
A pair of French Louis XVI style armchairs purchased from a private home in the Loire region. The armchairs are made of beechwood with fluted legs and delicate carvings including acanthus leaves, beading, fretwork and rosettes. The chairs are upholstered in a striped fabric with burgundy and rose tones finished with antique nails. The rectangular flatbacks are called "A la reine " (queen style). From floor to seat: 17".
Condition: Good. Sturdy. One visible repair on front leg of 1 armchair.
